Mineworlds: From Minecraft to VRML |
My pupils are finishing their multimedia projects, and some of them chose minecraft. I've started to test their worlds in VRML, and posted the results to sketchfab (because, well, it's very in alpha... upon completion, they'll be published here in Babel). It's pretty amazing what kids create in this game! Pictured is one of their worlds.

Moon Films (beta 2) |
It's a new year resolution of sorts... i'm revamping Moon Films, my world about sci fi cinema and the moon. It's a good excuse to practice vrml skill, test new ideas (playing with light sources, for example) and model cool spaceships. And space bases. And some sci fi interior design... later. Have fun! |

Testing Vítor Cardoso's (vcard) ingenious solution to display web video in a virtual world, i'm building the Moon Films world - around the idea of space exploration in classic sci-fi cinema (and a good excuse to model fun stuff). It's in beta - more models and films will be added soon, as well as some information regarding the fictional vehicles in the broader context of space exploration. And some surprises, cool stuff and testing of interaction ideas. I'm open to tips, suggestions and new ideas. Visit here: Moon Films. Mouse interaction in Unity |
Simple mouse interaction is useful but some basic interactions like point, click, grab, ... are not available in Unity out of the box. This test shows some basic interaction and uses. Notice that mouse icon changes accordingly:
A temporary bug in Unity's current WebGL export prevents mouse image change (it did work fine in previous versions) so we had to force the change by software. That is why, until the bug is corrected, the standard pointer is seen over the mouse image. DEMO: http://odisseia.babelx3d.net/unity3d/Mouse_interactions/index.html (Beware! Don't let the ball fall off the scene platform!) None of the standard Unity scripts where modified. All the functionality is achieved by additional scripts. Hey everyone!
