In this game, you will be controlling a hero that has a hook, and there are lots of enemies and bosses on the other side of the river that are trying to hook you too. The game is very fun to play, and there are lots of power-ups to help you along the way.


Hook Wars is designed carefully to ensure it runs smoothly on all platforms. The game is played on a map that is divided in two by a river. In single-player mode, the player always starts at the bottom part of the map. But in the online game, player division is done automatically by the game manager. This is to ensure that all team members (team 1 vs. team 2) are on the same side.


Gameplay:

Hook Wars can be played in two ways. Offline (single player) & Online (multiplayer).


In the online mode, "Hook Wars" can support two teams with up to 5 human players on each team to fight for the victory of their side. Each time you hook an enemy, you are contributing to the total score of your team, and when you are hooked, the other team receives the points. The team that reaches the target score is the winner. Since the game is using a smart connection handler, if all players of a team leave while the game is still running, the other team is declared as the winner.


In the single-player mode, you need to fight with increasing waves of enemy heroes. Each time you hook an enemy, two more enemies are spawned. Also, every once in a while, a strong boss (crab) appears that has 3 HP (lives) and throws 3 hooks at once. The aim in single player mode is to survive as long as possible and get the highest score.


The game is using advanced mechanics to ensure it runs smoothly all throughout the game. Game objects are cached when needed, garbage is produced as low as possible, and all resources are formatted in a way to give the best performance.


Powerups:

Hook Wars also features 5 powerups that help players survive as the game gets harder.

1. Haste (move at 2x speed for a short while)

2. Immortality (makes you invincible for a short time)

3. Quick Hook (your hooks move at 2x speed)

4. Curse (your move speed will be decreased by 50%)

5. Lucky Dice (you receive a random powerup)


Hook Wars Online offers multiplayer gameplay using the Photon Fusion v2 networking solution. It allows you to seamlessly find an online match and connects you to the game, so you can begin playing right away. For simplicity, our technical demos support two teams with 1 player on each team to quickly find pairs and begin the matches, but in general, each room can host up to 10 human players divided into two teams with 5 players. You can change these numbers easily to customize the game the way you want it to be played.
