It is an old agricultural tool used to clean grains from various organic impurities, e.g. weeds, worms, dust, sand, stones, etc. 

Seeds were poured from above through a hole with an adjustable gap.

Turning the crank sets the fan in motion. The wind caused by the movement of the fan blows away the chaff, which escapes through the opening in the back or through the sliding door.

Weeds and Grains were sifted through sieves. The best grains moved slowly to the bottom tedder. Grains of the second category spilled out from the side of the mill.

This mill was modeled on the mill that is on my farm.

Later, in order to facilitate the work, instead of a crank, a motor was mounted that drove the fan
