Pixel Character Builder is a unique drawing tool that enables rapid development of sets of pixel art characters.

It is intuitive to use and invokes a different thought process when designing characters which makes it easier to be creative. Think of it as playing with figures.

To create a set of characters:
- Draw a pixel art shape for the three body parts: head, body and legs.
- Define style layers for each body part like hair, eyes, shirts, jackets, pants, shoes etc.
- Draw shapes for each style layer.
- Choose colors for each style layer.

The tool will generate characters by randomly selecting shapes and colors. You will experience that you quickly can get huge variations only with a few layers and colors.

It is possible to control the shading of the characters as the shapes are drawn in greyscale pixels where perfect grey represents the selected color meanwhile lighter or darker grey will shade the color.

Each style layer also have a parameter that sets the probability of it being drawn. This could be useful for layers like glasses or beards which might not be needed on each character.
