Domaginarium's Versatile Skin Shader by The Domaginarium
Not only it can used to create amazing skin materials, but can also be used to simulate other materials, like wax, marble, velvet, leather, etc.
Features:
- Ability to add color tint to the base texture, so you can experiment with different colors inside your game (specially useful if you want to make a character creator in your game, or want to quickly add skin variations for NPCs using the same texture).
- Control over color texture saturation, that can be used to simulate various effects or stats in your game, like taking damage, low health.
- Metallic map support, plus Metallic+Gloss controls to simulate wet skin or sweat.
- Two different levels Sub-Surface Scattering, one for light spreading across a surface, and another one for light going through the object, for better control.
- Sub-Surface Scattering can be defined via a texture map, a solid color, or both. The texture map includes a saturation control.
- Emissive channel map, to simulate glowing tattoos or magical skin marks. Support for color tint means you can change the color of the glowing tattoo, even at runtime.
- Support for two normal maps (a regular normal map and a detail normal map), each with its own normal map intensity.
- Two layered "velvet-like" effects with individual color parameters. One to simulate the "peach skin fuzz" effect, and another one to simulate subtler back-lighting.
- Frontal simulated gradient color scattering, to simulate an airbrush/illustrated look.
- Support for drawn outline, including the ability to change the outline color, to simulate a semi-realistic toon effect.
- Supports both OpenGL, DirectX, Metal, and PS4 (Not tested on Xbox and Nintendo platforms. Will update when that happens).
This shader will be constantly updated, with more features and compatibility with newer versions of Unity, as it's the one being used for the company's projects.
