The Virtual University of Edinburgh “Openvue” grid on http://virtual.aiai.ed.ac.uk:8002 has been operating since 2007 as an open Hypergrid accessible resource looked after by Prof. Austin Tate (avatar: Ai Austin) in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh.

Openvue will now be moved behind the University firewall and thus will not be accessible externally via the Hypergrid. It will continue to be available within the firewall or via the University’s secure VPN. This is part of a networking security effort by the University to close open ports for services run by individual departments or schools or by normal staff members.

Discussions are underway to potentially transfer the Openvue grid to run as a central service so Openvue may reappear on the Hypergrid at some time, though its griduri will change to a central one if that is done.

This pack has more stylistic/color variety and less themed coloring than our other space alien pack. This pack includes both masculine, feminine, and androgenous characters. Most of the characters are wearing some sort of crown or headgear and are wearing armor or regal attire. If you need 10+ aliens with the same color scheme or dont prefer royalty then we suggest you check out our other assets.

Each portrait is drawn with intentional style; there are no re-used parts, and no re-colors of the same image. Every alien is unique! Their regal expressions are somewhat varied and unique to each image so you can find the exact characters to make your game ring true emotionally. These characters will help build emotional resonance with the player to take your game from "meh" to game-of-the-year.

We have included 28 frames to use with the portraits. They vary in width and style; some are plain, others are stylized.

With Seasons system, you can easily set and control seasonal:
