What is it?
Vault Attributes is a plugin that allows you to make your game characters have attributes like Strength, Agility and Wisdom in a robust and scalable way.
What we are referring to when we say 'Attributes' are classically seen in aRPG/cRPG and tabletop games in a variety of different categories and often spanning into other game genres as well. When you need to do more damage after you level up your STR, or get more health when you increase END points - Attributes is that governing system.
How does it work?
To ensure secure data it uses Vault Core to database all of the data. Using it's firm SriptableObject backend and the intuitive Vault Dashboard design interface you will be able to confidently design content quickly.
A big concern is also performance with these systems. We've chosen an event based approach and rely on minimal formulaic calculations almost entirely.
The asset includes full functionality for Modifiers as well as the functions for attaching, detaching, adding and removing them with varying levels of permanence, timing and stack maximums.
Why do I need it?
If you are creating a game of any kind and need a lightweight, performant and highly scalable solution to Character Stats / Attributes / Traits then this is a simple low impact solution that is virtually futureproof. Many systems can be either far too complicated for your needs or far too simple. This solution fits right in the middle.

It has bothered me for a long time how unrealistically sharp shadowmaps are, even with tricks like percentage closest filtering, they just don't get soft enough to feel realistic. I came across the Analytic Shadows technique and knew I had to implement it in Unity.

• Performance: using tiled-culling and depth-aware-upsampling in best cases the performance is better than shadowmapping! (Best case: approximating high-poly models with few soft shadow shapes, worst case: approximating models with hundreds of small soft shadow shapes)
• Famous "Capsule Shadows" algorithm used in many AAA games
• Real-time adjustable shadow softness all the way from super hard to super soft
• An additional algorithm to choose from that provides soft shadows that don't fade with distance if that's what you want, similar to "signed distance field shadows"
