TerraShade - Terrain & Object Shaders by TERRA

This package includes high-end graphics content of shaders & 3D assets to render terrains, vegetation & any hard/soft surfaces & objects with dynamic seasonal effects showcased in a small island!

TROPICAL ISLAND DEMO


Please note that Tropical Island (TerraFormer + FloraShade) demo scene is intended to show latest graphical features of TerraFormer & FloraShade in Unity and uses heavy post processing effects available in HDRP to achieve the best looking graphics in photo-realistic genre; so this scene has nothing to do with the final performance and you can use these shaders in more performant scene setups while all features of these shaders are accessible through material UI in a modular way to keep the quality and performance of the rendering world items.


General Notes

  • Do not change location of scenes' content so that the Scene Downloader can work properly
  • The Tropical Island demo scene uses entirely TerraFormer & FloraShade shaders for rendering terrain and objects in the world and is only availbe in HDRP

Knows Issues

  • When the demo scene is loaded, it may be possible that terrain is not rendering and is invisible; in this case, simply find terrain's material and set it to TerraUnity/TerraFormer Tessellation
  • If You are using Unity 2023.x or 6.x you need to remove DirectX 12 from "Graphics APIs for Windows" under "Player" section in Project Settings
  • If there are any scripts under demo scene which has errors, you can remove them since they are only for previewing purposes and may be possible that they are not used in project at all
  • In Unity 6 (or 2023.x), TerraFormer only works properly in game mode if "Opaque Object Motion" is disabled under "Rendering" section on your camera
  • In Unity 6 (or 2023.x), terrain rendering by TerraFormer needs a simple change in scene hierarchy (e.g. disbale & re-enable a gameobject) to render properly

⚡ Please note that for the best visuals, the tropical island demo scene has been made using HDRP and uses heavy post processing effects and graphics features, so the scene setup does not represent performance in any ways. To measure shaders' performance, it is recommended to test FPS in a minimal scene with no effects in place based on your target project and platform.


⚡ TerraFormer (terrain shader) is not made for mobile or VR platforms and it's PC only but FloraShade (objects shader) can be used in any desktop and mobile platforms since both of these shaders come as a modular system where you can enable/disable certain features through material UI.
