Project description

This project is under development within the Curricular Unit Virtual Reality in Distributed Environments of the Master in Web Technologies and Systems attended in Open University of Portugal, 2012.

Portugal 3D exhibition project aims to show the potential of 3D and web technologies as means of publicizing the country potential.

The project was initially thought to be an exhibition of where each of the regions (Norte, Centro, Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, Alentejo, Algarve, Açores e Madeira) would be represented by a booth, where it could be publicized the potentialities of the region through images, videos and 3D models of the most representative historical monuments of the region.

Given the range and scale of the project and considered that the work will be done individually; the end result will certainly be below the initially projected.

The project to be developed consists of the following:

1. Construction of a 3D Model of the Torre de Belém, in a visitable format in order to allow the realization of an exhibition inside the monument.
2. Create in 3D, the surroundings of the Torre de Belém, where the the 3D model will be implanted.

3. Inside Torre de Belém an exhibition will be created with 3D models of national monuments to be build or obtained from other sources, for example on google wharehouse.
4. In the outer space it can also be placed 3D models of monuments in bigger size than the ones inside Torre de Belém.
