Hi All,
Just released a simple Unity 3D tutorial to help beginners create their first Unity 3D scene with terrain, vegetation, skybox and avatar:
1-Unity 3D Easy first Scene:
http://1drv.ms/1u7lLAl
You will be amazed to see how easy it is to build from scratch a complete virtual scene including terrain, sky, vegetation and avatar. Unity 3D free version has, out of the box, all you need.
Defy: Using the tutorial info, create your own scene and answer this post with images and links to your scene
This tutorial starts a series on Unity 3D Easy Steps, for beginners.
Enjoy!

wow!!!!!!! I stopped playing with unity in 2012, and I never heard after the team had put the lightmapping in the free version!!!
http://unity3d.com/unity/quality/lighting
Thank you, vitor
I will retry it
and here are my old tryings
http://mixed3d.free.fr/spip/?page_id=976
some are vrml imported to unity , i.e "Burano"....
ps: in these years I used a way to have a chat in these worlds ( smartfox) but now it is stopped on my server...
( so ...no "connection", now...and I am lazzy to repair)
Wow!!!
Impressive works Alain!
I remember your VRML Worlds and how they where so funny and cute!
You maintained the same spirit in here and I loved the concepts you have for each scene. Example: in gooberrain the guy trying to escape the rain, eheheh! So funny!
Yes would be nice to have a simple solution for chat, may be you can repair yours soon and give us a tutorial
Would also be cool, in the future, to have and easy multiuser/shared solution, with avatars, so we can recreate in this new era, with better tools like Unity, the fantastic camaraderie, creation and sharing spirit we remember from multiuser blaxxun/VRML Worlds.

I was jumping here to write:
" I remember that vitor liked my little vrml house , ..I embeded it in unity in 2012
http://mixed3d.free.fr/unity3d/unreal/lamaisondelarchitectePlayer.html
"
and now I discover your kind words ( I am not notified if there is some reply, but may be my fault if I not well informed my profil....)
Well ..camaraderie is the best 3D stuff ..lol ... so I will tell how we , me and our old friend "Peugeofast" , solved the chat question with a little few php...
Must search where it is on LouiZe , lol
some things there
but I will search more

I tried so many things , that scares me , lool

I try to retrieve stuff.
Because our friend Peugeotfast made all absolutly correct, some months ago, see : 3D chat , Scene Optimizer / Menu Skins Changable / Icon sitting position Fixed

Impressive tests ! :)
When I first tried to use Unity 3D (on a Mac) I was overwhelmed by the complexity of the software, and puzzled at the lack of creation tools. It took me a while to fully grasp what Unity 3D is all about and should be used for.
The tutorial was key to clear my doubts and reassure me that I was on the right track, and gave me the confidence to further explore and experiment. I am sure that there are lots of wrong choices and errors, but at least I think it looks decent enough :)
Here is the result:
And you can explore it here: http://pedroveiga.com/rv/1401433.html
Nice work
Glad you found the tutorial useful.
You nailed it Pedro, congrats!

Hi.
I've made this world in Unity.
It's far from over and with several bugs (Ex. There is no "Catch all zone", the trees aren't solid, missing animation on the girl, etc.).

Best regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
It's really cool man. The terrain is superb, with those trees and the pond, the overall looks quite convincing.
Well done!
Some print screens - Unity 3D tests
Hey, it is looking good!
You used buildings and stuff recovered from vrml scenes, cool :)

Hi, i'd followed the tutorial and that's the result.
http://jmvale.esy.es/Unity/aldeia_mediaval/v3/build.html
The mediaval enviorment came from the unity3d assetstore (https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/25602)

Good test,
I notice, sometimes , strange avatar behaviour. There may be some unnecessary scripts in there.
If you dowload the original scene and then add the avatar it will work fine, I tested.

Hi
There's a catch on the last test, the script "third person camera (script)" must be active in only one object, avatar or camera.
I build a new and light test, used the MouseOrbit script on the default scripts of unity3d:
http://jmvale.esy.es/Unity/aldeia_mediaval/003_4/003_4.html
A new script: http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php?title=MouseOrbitImproved

Hi,
It's working !
Well done!

Hi everyone,
Here's the result of my first attempt to build a world with Unity, following the tutorial "Easy First Scene". This is something really simple, I'm afraid, but my main intention was to build a very light world and make some evaluation about how it works in a small and old PC.
Results are quite encouraging, so now it's time to start, step by step, building more sophisticated stuff.
This world can be accessed following the link:

Hi Pedro,
Beautiful plain. Reminds me of the Alentejo
Well done!
